About the Seminar

Emerging Technologies Shaping Industry 5.0: Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Smart Energy, Communication Networks and Cybersecurity

Industry 5.0 marks the next phase in industrial evolution by advancing beyond automation and digitalization towards a human-centric, sustainable, resilient, and intelligent industrial ecosystem. While Industry 4.0 revolutionized manufacturing through automation, data exchange, and interconnected systems, Industry 5.0 emphasizes the synergy between human creativity and advanced technologies to develop innovative, sustainable, and socially responsible engineering solutions.

The convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Energy Systems, Advanced Communication Networks, and Cybersecurity is fundamentally transforming industrial operations and engineering practices. AI enables intelligent automation, predictive analytics, machine learning, computer vision, and data-driven decision-making, improving productivity, operational efficiency, and asset reliability across manufacturing, power systems, transportation, healthcare, and smart infrastructure.

Simultaneously, IoT and Industrial IoT connect machines, sensors, and devices into intelligent cyber-physical systems that facilitate real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, process optimization, and autonomous operations. Smart Energy technologies, including renewable energy integration, smart grids, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and intelligent energy management systems, are driving the transition towards energy-efficient, low-carbon, and sustainable industrial development.

Advanced communication technologies such as 5G, emerging 6G networks, cloud computing, and edge computing provide the secure, high-speed, and low-latency connectivity essential for modern industrial automation, smart factories, and digital ecosystems.

As industries become increasingly interconnected, Cybersecurity has become a critical enabler of Industry 5.0. Protecting industrial control systems, operational technology (OT), communication networks, and digital assets through robust cybersecurity frameworks, AI-assisted threat detection, secure architectures, and effective data governance is essential for ensuring operational resilience and digital trust.

This one-day seminar will provide a multidisciplinary platform for engineers, academicians, researchers, industry professionals, and students to explore the latest technological advancements, practical applications, challenges, and future opportunities in Industry 5.0. Through expert lectures, technical presentations, case studies, and interactive discussions, the seminar aims to foster innovation, strengthen industry-academia collaboration, and equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to drive India's transition towards a technologically advanced, sustainable, and globally competitive industrial future.

About Inderprastha Engineering College

After independence, India witnessed an enormous upsurge in its population. With this upsurge came the challenge of keeping pace with the fast technological development taking place around the globe. To meet this challenge and prepare the country's youth for the 21st century, a rapid expansion took place in the Indian education sector with the growth of universities and colleges.

The entry of private players in the education sector led to the establishment of state-of-the-art tertiary education institutions serving as centres of excellence in their respective regions.

Inderprastha Engineering College (IPEC), established under the aegis of Shail Garg Shiksha Sansthan, is a self-financed institution serving the needs of technical education in the NCR region of Uttar Pradesh. IPEC is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.

IPEC is a NAAC-accredited institute with NBA-accredited courses and is an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering and technology, supported by experienced faculty, industrial visits, guest lectures, seminars, workshops, conferences, and practical exposure.

The Training and Placement Cell of the institute serves as an interface between students and industry and works towards developing employable professionals through comprehensive training and industry interaction.

The IPEC campus is located in Sahibabad Industrial Area, close to the National Capital Region, and is well connected to major transport facilities.
